Juanita Montoya’s Award Winning Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 6-9 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced (the Montoya’s like to use Red Delicious)
  • ½ cup Orange Juice
  • ½ cup Sugar mixed with 2 ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¾ cup Flour
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 6 tbls. Butter
  • Ice cream or whipped cream, for topping (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Put sliced apples into ungreased oblong pan, and pour orange juice over apples.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture over apples.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt and butter until crumbly and spread over apples.
  5. Bake 45-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
