Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm presents Dr. Armin Rembe Lecture Series at La Quinta
Introducing the Dr. Armin Rembe Lecture Series at La Quinta, occurring monthly. Named in honor of Dr. Rembe, who passed away this spring, and inspired by his love of Los Poblanos, his curiosity, intelligence and community relations, this series aims to celebrate his legacy by promoting stimulating conversations rooted in the core values and mission of Los Poblanos. The lecture series is also a nod to the rich history of La Quinta Cultural Center of the 1930s and 1940s, when the Simms family held lectures and events that promoted the arts. As we work to preserve La Quinta as an important architectural landmark, we also aim to emulate its dynamic programming through our own curated events and experiences. Join us for a culturally rich day at La Quinta by joining us for afternoon tea before the evening lecture.

Join Los Poblanos for an evening with Lone Piñon in celebration of the traditional music of Northern New Mexico. Lone Piñon was founded as a band in 2014 to create an artistic and professional context around the study and performance of traditional string band music of the American Southwest and Mexican Norte. Through relationships with elders, studies of field recordings, and connections to parallel traditional music and dance revitalization movements in the US and Mexico, they have brought the language of the New Mexico orquesta típica back onto the modern stage and into the ears of a new generation. Throughout this special performance at La Quinta, Lone Piñon will help to put their songs in context by sharing insights into the unique genres and musical lineages that enrich Northern New Mexico’s musical geography.

Please plan to arrive at La Quinta 15-30 minutes before the start of the lecture to check in. Light beverage offerings will be available for purchase.
