You are artists, healers, magicians, alchemists, activists, and most of all, you are lovers-lovers of the land, lovers of animals, lovers of the seasons, lovers of the people you nurture with your offerings…My son has perfectly strong teeth because of you…I have never been on medication because of you..My family finds great pleasure at my table because of you…I have deepened my sense of community because of you. You work ceaselessly, rise early, and multi-task endlessly without complaint, providing the highest quality food for the most reasonable prices. The radiant beauty of your healthful faces reminds me that there is no substitute for a closeness with the Earth, and you inspire me to do better for Her. You are humble servants and at the same time, you are Queens and Kings, so much more charismatic than the power brokers we are expected to emulate. Every single week you impart a vibrancy to my life that I carry with me wherever I go.
