Backyard Composting with Worms

Wednesday Market Presentation: Backyard Composting with Worms

Wednesday, July 3
4pm
Market Pavilion

Sam McCarthy from C.O.R.E. (Creative Organic Recycling Enterprises) will kick off the Wednesday Market’s series of educational presentations! He’ll discuss backyard composting with worms.

Compost is key to growing healthy gardens and reducing waste. Food scraps make up at least 30% of the waste stream in most places. You can eliminate most of that by composting.

Do you think backyard composting is too hard or too smelly? Maybe you think it’s too dry in New Mexico? Behold the amazing red worm! Compared with other methods, composting with red worms requires the least labor, the least water, and in most cases, the least time to complete.
