PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Event Supervisor works closely with contracted cleaning crew and event security to supervise rental events in the Farmers’ Market Pavilion. Major aspects of this position are providing responsible supervision of events, ensuring the safety and appropriate conduct of rental clients and guests and maintaining the cleanliness of the Farmers’ Market Pavilion, restrooms and outside areas during events. Event Supervisors must be 21 years of age or older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the responsible point of contact and representative of SFFMI for rental clients during events. 
  • Provide general support to rental client as needed during set-up and load-out and provide access to SFFMI equipment as needed.
  • Actively seek to provide answers to questions and solutions to any problems that may arise during the event.
  • Set up SFFMI equipment including as needed, including tables, pipe & drape and signs.
  • Perform light cleaning during events as needed, including but not limited to: refilling toilet paper and paper towel dispensers, changing garbage can liners and removing garbage, wiping or mopping up spills. 
  • Supervise contract security personnel and contract cleaning crew.
  • Enforce all SFFMI rental guidelines and policies as dictated in the rental agreement.
  • Be responsible for securing the building (including locking all exterior doors and doors to office suites) following the event.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

  • Previous event or production management experience strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Demonstrated problem solving and people skills
  • New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work long hours, sometimes late into the evening or early in the morning
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend at the waist, raise arms above head and lift 15-20lbs
  • Comfortable maneuvering on ladders 
  • Verbal communication over the phone and in person
  • Some light cleaning
