Fall Fiesta Special Appeal

We support local food self-sufficiency through programs that help sustain a locally-based agricultural community and address local economic development, health, and environment issues. We provide resources, training, and development/networking opportunities to improve farm businesses and expand the skill sets of local farmers while supporting the rich heritage of farming in New Mexico. We also address food access and educate the community about the importance of local agriculture and healthy food.

Some of our support is done behind the scenes and not through an official program. We support the Farmers’ Market with marketing/advertising, strategic planning, website hosting, and other administrative tasks. We give the Market a steep discount on rent and pay them a portion of revenue received through Pavilion rentals. We staff the Info Booths at every market, and manage the volunteer Market Docent program. We carry and pay the mortgage on the building and handle all maintenance and upgrades, such as with this year’s kitchen upgrade. And, we work one-on-one with vendors to build relationships to best inform our program development and provide individual support.

We need community support to continue offering our wide array of programs and general Market and vendor support, so we call on you to make a generous investment during our Special Appeal. Now you can double the impact of your contribution! A family foundation has put forth a challenge grant – this means that they will match up to $10,000 that is raised tonight during the Special Appeal. Help us raise 10 for 10 – $10,000 in honor of the 10 years in the Railyard! Or, better yet, let’s aim for 50 for 50 –$50,000 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Market!
